My biggest complaint actually centers on the daycare facility because the graffiti covered walls look a bit too artificially staged for a real city neighborhood. Still, forcing these desperate people to constantly bump elbows in crowded shelter lines makes their mounting panic feel very tangible.

To truly understand the stress of this journey, you have to listen to the incredibly dense layers of urban background noise. My ears constantly pick up the heavy clatter of typewriters and the deafening screech of subway trains right before a major setback happens. Throughout the most intense running sequences, the editing rhythm moves at a bizarrely frantic pace that perfectly mimics a racing heartbeat. Andrea Guerra composed an undeniably emotional score, yet it occasionally threatens to make the dramatic setbacks feel a little too manipulative. Hearing the loud mechanical thud of a slammed shelter door actually grounds the emotional desperation.

The sheer emotional weight of the central performance keeps me completely hooked, but I cannot ignore how overly glossy the corporate environments look. Certain office scenes look so perfectly lit that you practically forget you are watching a grueling drama about extreme poverty.
